Scientific Program Chairs’ Welcome

Welcome Message

It is my great pleasure to invite each and all of you to attend the 16th World Congress of the International Neuromodulation Society that will take place on May 11th through 16th May 2024 in Vancouver, Canada.

It will be the culmination of many years of preparatory work aimed at summarization of all novel technologies, applications and innovations in the field of neuromodulation.

The conference that we are preparing now, will be a highlight of the neuromodulation technologies and applications applicable to a variety of different conditions. We will be focusing on pain, movement disorders, psychiatric conditions and epilepsy, among many other things that are now being dealt with neuromodulation.

The venue that we chose for this Congress is rather unique. Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada, is a fascinating place, which, I can tell you based on first-hand account that provides a remarkable degree of hospitality and warmth. I’m very confident that in addition to the highest level of scientific innovation, you will enjoy being in this beautiful geographic location.

Konstantin Slavin, MD
Scientific Program Committee Chair of 16th World Congress of International Neuromodulation Society
President Elect of the International Neuromodulation Society

We are very excited about our upcoming 16th World Congress of the International Neuromodulation Society. It will be held in the beautiful city of Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada. The incredible vistas seen from the Vancouver conference center should inspire us to achieve the great heights for this, the biggest and most impressive neuromodulation meeting in our history. We will be welcoming scientists, clinicians, nurses, engineers, patients, members of the medical device industry and all of those who have an investment in neuromodulation and neuromodulation therapies.

As you well know, the field of neuromodulation has grown tremendously and now involves not just the treatment of chronic pain, but also the treatment of movement disorders, drug resistant epilepsy and other disorders such as chronic depression, obsessive compulsive disorder as well as both gastrointestinal and genitourinary disorders. As it grows in both intensity and breadth, the field requires a platform where we can all get the information as to the most up-to-date state of the art therapies, the science behind their mechanisms of action as well as instructions as to their best and most effective clinical use. This is what we expect of our 16th World Congress taking place from 11th – 16th May 2024, and we hope that you will be able to attend this conference with us. We expect over 1800 attendees from all over the world. I’m looking forward to us developing the close kind of interpersonal relationships and collaborations that drive this field forward and allow us to best help our patients who are suffering so much. I personally believe that this will be a high-water mark for the field of neuromodulation.

Robert Levy, M.D., Ph.D.
Scientific Program Committee Co-Chair of 16th World Congress of International Neuromodulation Society
Immediate Past President of the International Neuromodulation Society
Editor-in-Chief of Neuromodulation: Technology at the Neural Interface

I am delighted to invite you all to the 16th World Congress of the International Neuromodulation Society beginning on May 11th to the 16th May 2024 in Vancouver, Canada. A beautiful location and an exciting programme, kindly hosted by the Canadian Neuromodulation Society.

The Pre-conference day includes non-invasive brain stimulation. There is an excellent Nurses/Allied Health Professional meeting, together with a Neuromodulation Public Health session. The standard of section proposals has been amazing – such high quality and innovative thoughts. This is a testament to you all, of the high standard of care that is offered to our patients. Topics include neuromodulation for pain, epilepsy, gastrointestinal disorders, genitourinary disorders, neuropsychiatry and neurocardiology. We are also thrilled to present sections on neuroprothetics/neuromodulation, artificial intelligence and intrathecal drug delivery.

Please join us in Vancouver to enjoy the scientific content of our programme, meet old friends and make new friends.
