Scientific Program Chairs’ Welcome

Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

On behalf of the INS 2026 Scientific Program Committee, we are delighted to invite you to the 17th World Congress of the INS in Lisbon, Portugal, from 9-14 May 2026. This congress will be an exceptional event, uniting experts worldwide to share the latest research, innovations, and practices in neuromodulation.

The theme of this year’s congress, “Neuromodulation: Bridging Minds, Machines, and Medicine”, reflects the expanding scope of our field. Our program will cover the broad range of neuromodulation topics, from pain management and movement disorders to gastrointestinal, genitourinary and cardiovascular neuromodulation to noninvasive brain stimulation, and artificial intelligence. We will provide sessions that cater to the diverse specialties within neuromodulation, promoting cross-disciplinary collaboration and sharing knowledge. These sessions will highlight the latest advancements in deep brain stimulation, noninvasive techniques including rTMS, tDCS, and focused ultrasound as well as  the latest research in epilepsy and psychiatric disorders, to name just a few.

While the congress will focus heavily on advancing the science and application of neuromodulation, it will also serve as a hub for networking and building long-lasting relationships. We believe that the value of the congress extends beyond the lectures and workshops. It is about meeting with colleagues, sharing experiences, and learning from one another. This exchange of ideas is critical to the continued growth of our field and the improvement of patient care globally.

We look forward to seeing you in Lisbon, where we will continue to push the boundaries of neuromodulation and shape the future of patient care.

Warm regards,

Dr. Robert Levy, Scientific Program Chair

Dr. Lisa Goudman, Scientific Program Co-Chair
